Cork Tower was built in 1929 to control the PRR trackage in the Lancaster area. It's still active today, although like the four other manned towers remaining on the Amtrak main line between Philly and Harrisburg, its days are probably numbered. (Taken from Amtrak) |

Tower B-12 Eastbound Signal Bridge |
Description: |
Some interesting signals on the eastbound bridge at B-12, where the CP Elgin Sub crosses the CN Waukesha Sub and the IHB main diverges from the CP. Notice the different westbound signal types on the bridge and the cantilever signal in the background which guards the recently rerouted IHB mainline. Although the interlocking is generally known as "Tower B-12," today the tower is no longer active and the interlocking is controlled by the Metra Southwest Dispatcher. |
