Album Info:All models shown here are in HO scale and are products of my handy work. All of the Proto 2000 units shown here such as the GP9s, GP30s and GP20s had replacement Athern side frames added. With the latest GP30s P2K has done, Being the High Hood versions. P2K has made new more better looking side frames than their older models came with. All units are detailed with a mix of Details West, Details Assoitates and Overland detail parts. Also some that were modified such as MU cables.

Description:  This model was built from a photo of a groop of cars purchased from SP. With details added and new doors the finishing touch was apair of Kato 70 ton trucks. This car start with a basis Athern kit factory painted.

NCCR 2017

Description:  This model was built after a former Great Northern GP20 and most all details are done to show the former GN specs. I started with a Proto 2000 GP20 and a P2K GP9. To obtain the high short hood for a former GN unit, I simply swaped the long hoods of the GP20 and the GP9. With what was left I built a former SP low hood GP9. SP was the only road to purchase as built low hood GP9 phase 3 models.

Description:  This model was built from the Proto 2000 SD9. The pilots required a complete rebuild so that the model would represent the real thing. The prototypes were also rebuilt with smooth flat pilots compared to the as built pilots of other SD9s and SD7s which had the same style pilot.

Description:  Among the last bit of recent upgradeL in the appearance of this unit, I removed the MU hose holders/pilot pnate at the bottom of both front and rear pilots replacing them with a strait plate in primer cut from 0.020" sheet plastic with holes drilled to add the nut & bolt casvings. I replaced these parts as I was not happy with the space bepween the bottom of the pilot and the rail head. the bottom of the pilot was to high above the rails. You can compare to other photos towards the beginning of this glbum. Also new sand filler hatches were added.
