Album Info:These pictures were taken by my friend, Dave Gardella. The coal dumper was operated by the former Reading Railroad, which had a yard located in Port Reading, NJ, which is a section of Woodbridge Township, NJ (Middlesex County) The coal dumper in Port Reading was made by the McMyler Manufacturing Company Cleveland, Ohio. Two articles appeared in the April 2009, edition of the magazine, Railroad Model Craftsman. The first article in that edition is about the CNJ Railroad coal dumper in Jersey City, NJ, Titled, The Jersey Central's Big Mac coal unloaders, author, Robert F.Fischer. A second artilce in the same edition on how to model the CNJ(Central of NJ RR) Jersey City coal unloader, mentions the Port Reading coal unloader, Article A Big Mac in HO Scale, by Rob Davis and Jules Heiliczer, of the Garden State Central Model Railroad Club which built an HO scale model of the CNJ coal unloader. Port Reading yard is now used by Conrail Shared Assets Organization.
