Album Info:A few shots in a great Railroad town. On the weekends the MARC Rail parking lot on land that was once part of a large B&O yard, is empty providing for good parking and great views of the local rail action.

Description:  The remains of the roundhouse are visible behind the refueling tracks. In its day this was a major yard. A large part of it is taken up with a MARC parking lot these days and just recently an 84 Lumber build at the west end of the old yard area this year.

Description:  On the river side of the yard parallel with the east bound main are several long sidings where CSX parks coal trains waiting for the final movement to one of the nearby coal fired power plants fo the dock complex in Baltimore.

Title:  Silent Sentinel,
Description:  This guy has plby been thru a lot. This yard is beside the Potomac River. Every few years this yard is flooded with as much as 5 or 6 feet of river water. The switches are pueumatic because of this. Somewhere I've got pictures of the junction boxes for the compressed air that feeds them. /DL
