Title:  Looking west. Goodbye my friend, it was good to know you.
Description:  You can see the switch timbers ahead. The trailing point crossover from west to east is the reason for the stick rail. When that was removed, it was simply replaced with various lenghts. Welded rail starts again beyond the switch and continues west to Rittman. When we finished switching, we shoved our train toward the camera and ran the engine back in the clear, and lined the switch for the main. Then we'd bleed the brakes and ride the handbrakes down the hill past the switch. Then we could couple on our train and proceed east. The 2006 Google Imagery showed the tracks still in place.

Description:  ....we look east up the EL eastbound. The westbound is gone of course. This was the steepest part of Silver Creek hill from here to it's crest between Begley & Silver Creek Rds. The track to the right was called the Station Track, there was even a House Track off that. The depot was to my left, and the westbound ran next to it.
