Shown here (L to R) are Edna Griffith carrying her nephew Thomas Lantz, Harry Lantz and his son Tom, the Amtrak Station Agent, Loip Ayers (my mother), as well as Agnes Lantz and her daughter-in-law Ricki. We're all waiting for the train to Harrisburg to arrive on a very sunny day. Visible in the background is the PC/Amtrak "Temporary Station Alwoona." This modified house trailer was in "temporary" service for over five years!

Description:  FSF. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken from the 4th Street Footbridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in August of 1977. Notable in the center of the photo is Conrail engine #6232, an SD45 built by GM-EMD as Pennsylvania Railroad number "6232" in January of 1968, rated at 3,600 horsepower, and owned successively by the Penn Central and Conrail under its original road number.
