Both of these images are of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #573, a D-3 (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during December of 1872, then sold to the Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad and renumbered "56" in June of 1883. In 1876, this locomotive was assigned to pull the Jarrett & Palmer Theatrical Train out of Jersey City.

PRR engine #1223 is a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as a D-16B during January of 1905, later rebuilt as a D-16SB, sold to the Strasburg Rail Road in October of 1960, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.
