PRR Passenger Station, c. 1947
Description:
iStation. Here is a photo by Galen Smith that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1947. Prominent here is an unidentified K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" steam locomotive pulling a passenger train into the Station on its way to Johnstown and points West. It's a scene that was repeated literally millions of times, but shall never be repeated again . . . alas. Note the Blue & White Lines bus that's poised to depart.
