One shot I had been wanting to get recently was a shot from the US 33 (at Saint Johns) overpass. This ended up being the perfect opportunity. After what seemed like hours waiting (with a train only hitting 25 MPH max what can I expect?) the LSL roared south through Saint Johns with the LNL consist. |

The LSL rounds the bend into Saint Johns, OH. This has always been a massive bucket list shot for me. I am sitting on the crest of a hill by the road that parallels the tracks while the tracks basically stay level. There arent a lot of shots like this in this part of the state. This just happens to be a unique scenario. The code line polls certainly add to it! |

The IORY LSL was departing Ford Yard as the LIFW was departing Cole Street, and with nothing better to do I decided to race south to shoot the LSL. BNSF recently returned a few hundred of their Dash 9s back to GE, and with the recent EPA deal going into effect, G&W has been buying up a number of these units to replace the units that were forced to be scrapped. As unfortunate as it is, the days of standard cab leaders on the LSL have come to an end and the road trains will pretty much be dominated by these ex- BNSF widecabs. As much as I hate to say it though, Im glad these H2s are getting new life, even if they will be in a new coat of different orange paint soon enough. I set up shop south of Saint Johns for my first shot where they come around a slight curve. |

After grabbing the remainder of their train at Plastipak, the B Job headed back north for Lima. One shot that I had been waiting to get was a shot of a train passing the elevator from atop the US 33 overpass. Despite it being backlit and long hood forward, I had nothing better to do so I decided to finally get that shot. Turned out pretty well! |
