The Fairmont Factor |
Description: |
Fairmont OK, located about 11 miles east of Enid, at one time featured a diamond where the Frisco and Santa Fe crossed. As of 2001 the former ATSF branch south to Guthrie was abandoned but the BNSF used the line west to Enid (curving to the right here) as its "Main One", giving the road a short stretch of dual trackage into Enid. |

Trail's End |
Description: |
The ATSF line between Guthrie and Enid Oklahoma was abandoned up to Fairmont in 1998. This shot is at Fairmont looking SSW; the part west of Fairmont, which roughly parallels the old Frisco, continues as a second main into Enid. |
