A Sight from the Past
Title:  A Sight from the Past
Description:  One of many semaphore signals installed on the original California to Oregon mainline, the SP Siskiyou Line, in 1907 before the opening of the Cascade Line in 1926 dried up traffic but one of the very few that lasted until 2007. This had been the Northern-most pair on the line for at least a decade, located less than 5 miles from Springfield Junction (the Cascade Line junction).

UP 4928 Approaches Out of Service Searchlights

Yoncalla Hauler
Title:  Yoncalla Hauler
Description:  Described over the radio as the "Yoncalla Hauler" and operating with UP power in the form of two back-to-back SD70Ms on Central Oregon & Pacific track. Up until 2007 the Siskiyou line still had several semaphore signals in use between Goshen and Yoncalla, but today this is all that remains of the blades that once covered the line. These signals appear to be a pair that was welded down into searchlights by SP which replaced them in a seemingly very random order, and now they too have fallen out of service.
