Description:  Borrowed 44)tonner is is a few hundred feet from the Moshassuck Valley's interchange with the New Haven at Woodlawn in Pawtucket. At this time the MVRR only owned No. 8, a 300HL GE which replaced 0-4-0 No. 6 in 1951. 0-6-0 No. 7 was retained as a stand-by for a time but was scrapped leaving No.8 as the sole engine until No. 9 was purchased,in 1962.

Description:  Here's the interlocking board in Lawn (Woodlawn) Tower. I've marked the interchange with the Moshassuck Valley Railroad. This is the derailment site and the Providence and Worcester uses the track closest to Lawn Tower and has access to Pawtucket yard here. Notice the 3, 4 head semaphores - 1 for the approach to Lawn - the next (Conant Street) for the approach to Boston Switch and at the extreme right, is the set for Sacred Heart Avenue.

Description:  MVRR 8 on way to interchange at Woodlawn crossing Wieden St. No. 8 is a 300HP 50 ton industrial in service since January 1951. It replaced 0-4-0 No. 6 and 0-6-0 No. 7. The bridge on the left crosses the MoshassuckÙQiver which was part of the old Blackstone Canal. The Grand Trunk Railroad planned to cross the MVRR not far behind No. 8.
