Title:  CO 4-8-4 #601 - Chesapeake & Ohio
Description:  Fairly nice photo by Otto C. Perry of the Lima 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive although the C&O referred to them as "Greenbriers". The unit was delivered in December of 1935. Seen here a year after delivery, it still has its shiny boiler shell and clean white wall rims. The locos in the class were given patriotic names - this one was "Patrick Henry". The J-3 class was retired in 1953.

Description:  Note on back of the photo states "#546 eastbound on "Sportsman" lo. Charlottesville, Sept. 8, 1936. The loco was built by Alco-Brooks in 1918 as part of the J-2 class. Originally it was numbered 136 but renumbered in 1924. The class was retired between 1951-52. Unknown photographer.
