John D. DeLong was kind enough to provide the following history; "The history behind the yellow depot that says "Shoe Outlet" is that it is the 2nd Keswick station that the C&O put in service. The original station is a nice brick structure located on the gravel road that turns off of Rte. 22 past the Keswick Post Office. The original main line at one time ran closer to Rte. 22 and the Post Office and was re-aligned in the 1940's." Thanks for your help, John. |
