C&NW Eland, WI Depot
Title:  C&NW Eland, WI Depot
Description:  The northwest and northeast walls of the C&NW depot at Eland, WI on 17 Aug. '13. It was built in 1912 after the original depot, built by Milwaukee Lake Shore & Western in 1889, was destroyed by fire. The depot is now owned by the Eland Area Historical Society. The community was originally known as Eland Junction, because it was the junction of C&NW’s Ashland line and Wausau line. It still serves as a junction, but now it is where the Wiouwash State Trail meets the Mountain-Bay State trail. This view is from the Wiouwash State Trail, where it enters town from the north.
