CB&Q PMC 9768
Title:  CB&Q PMC 9768
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad PMC ( Passenger Motor Car ) 9768 at Campstool, Wyoming on May 21, 1956, photograph by Jim Ehernberger, duplicate slide by Al Chione, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 9768 was built by EMC-Pullman in October 1930 ( Shop No. 459 ) as a gas-electric, later rebuilt to a diesel-electric, sold for scrap in September 1966. The following is from the book, The Burlington in Transition, by Bernard G. Corbin and Joseph C. Hardy:

Another workhorse was the 400 h.p. 9768 which, after the end of steam, became the prime mover on the Sterling, Colorado - Cheyenne, Wyoming branch line. Equipped with footboards fore and aft, she did all the switching at the 10 stations of the 108 mile run, and even bucked huge snowdrifts ion the winter. She could handle up to eight loaded freight cars westbound, climbing over a thousand feet. When her motors wore out she was replaced with small road switchers.

UP 4-8-8-4 #4012
Title:  UP 4-8-8-4 #4012
Description:  Beautiful action shot of a double header with UP Big Boy #4012 in the lead. No exact date was given. This loco now resides at the Steamtown USA Museum in Scranton, PA. John William photo. Lucas Connor (see comment below) believes this photo might be closer to 1956 since it appears to have been recently repaired and outshopped. Seems fairly good estimate. Thanks, Lucas!

CB&Q 4-6-0 Class K-4 919
Title:  CB&Q 4-6-0 Class K-4 919
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-0 Class K-4 919 at Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 24, 1956, photograph by J. Ehernberger, print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 919 was built in 1903 by CB&Q's Havelock, Nebraska Shops as Burlington & Missouri River Railroad 40, renumbered in 1903 to B&MR 3687, renumbered again in 1904 to CB&Q 719 and classed K-4, renumbered one more time in 1951 to 919 to avoid confusion with the C&S diesels. As 719 it was an oil burner and a long-time resident of the light-railed and lonely Sterling-Cheyenne line, last operating in 1956. It was displayed at Alliance, later cosmetically restored and renumbered back to 719.
