| Description: |
once the site of a huge grain forwarding yard and originating station of the Bergen Cut off a Sub which bypassed the congestion of downtown winnipeg, since abandoned. The yard itself is a shawdow of it's former stature. The east end where this photo was taken is shared with the Central Manitoba Railway a CN spinoff. The Center is a CWR rail plant for CP Rail, the west end storage for MW equipment wintering. It's too bad this yard wasn't selected to be CP's main yard in Winnipeg moving the main line and yard from the crime ridden downtown core. |
