Amtrak, in the national passenger service in the U.S., once tested a train very similar to these called the "Big Kiss," although the experiment didn't result in any serious use in the U.S. DSB have a sizeable fleet of trains like these, and a number of them even work international services, like these. |

I was a bit surprised to see this tram tracks just tucked away in an out of the way neighborhood adjoining Malmohus castle. I'm not aware of whether they're part of a limited tram system, a local industrial railway, or a tram museum, but in any case they're quite interesting, I think. |

X2000 Tilt Train In Malmo Station |
| Description: |
Amtrak also tested the X2000 tilt train, and everybody agrees that it was the inspiration for the Acela Express which came about eight years later. The Acela Express, while it still runs today, has been a technical disaster from the start, as nearly all of the engineering lessons gleaned from the X2000 testing were ignored. The X2000, however, is superb, and one of my regrets this trip was that I didn't get a chance to ride it. |

I managed to catch the X2000, or at least a few pictures of it, during my side trip to Malmo, Sweden. This shot here isn't on Flickr, iPernity, or any other site yet, which I didn't realise until now. It was supposed to go up ages ago, though. Next time!
