Description:  Beautiful example of a Canadian Locomotive Company 4-4-4 Jubilee type locomotive built in March of 1938. Fortunately, this loco was saved from the scrapper's torch. It was retired in March of 1963 and donated to the Canadian RR Museum originally in Delson, Quebec. Specs - serial #1942, class F-1a, 75" drivers, 16.5x28" cylinders. J.R

Title:  CP 4-6-0 #827 - Canadian Pacific
Description:  Built by the Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops in August of 1908 as CP #2627, it was renumbered in 1913-14 to CP 827. The loco had a long service life of nearly 50 years before being scrapped in June of 1959. Title:  CP 4-6-0 #887 - Canadian Pacific
Description:  With a tender full of coal and a full head of steam, this Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 ten wheeler is ready to roll out. Built by the CP Angus Shops in 12/1910 as CP 2687, it was renumbered in 1913-14 to 887. The loco met its fate at the hands of a scrapper's torch in August of 1958 after nearly 48 years of service. Specs - no serial #, class D10G, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 177,000 lb, tractive effort of 33,320 lb. J.R. Quinn photo

Description:  According to a couple sources, this 4-6-0 ten wheeler was built by the CP shops in 1910 and just one of the over 600 ten wheelers that were on the CP roster at one time. Description:  Working as a switcher in the yard in McAdam, New Brunswick is this 2-8-0 Consolidation built by the Montreal Locomotive Works as CP #1862 in August of 1910. Renumbered to 3862 in September 1912, it was rebuilt in June of 1929 and renumbered to 3662 as shown here. Specs - serial #48870, class N2A, 63" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 23x32" cylinders, engine weight of 240,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,395 lb, retired in November of 1958. S.K. Bolton, Jr photo

Idling in the night
Title:  Idling in the night
Description:  The Atlantic stopped at McAdam, its last stop in Canada, which is also a base for several locals. A pair of RS 23s and a van wait out the night as we take care of business. I was able to set up long enough to get a shor of the slumbering Alcos.

Description:  I rode VIAs Atlantic from Montreal to Moncton NB, wanting to get the miles before the train came off. The last stop before going into Maine is Mc Adam NB, a large stone station that befit its importance in the region. The stop there was late at night, but I was able to get a shot braced against the car side.
