Grain Empties Moving South
Title:  Grain Empties Moving South
Description:  Two units bring Pacific National empty grain train 9323N around a curve on a Tuesday afternoon while descending about 10KM of 1.4% grade to Fish River. The train is at KP260 approaching the Old Hume Highway underpass; its destination is Cootamundra, about 170 kilometers further down the road. 81-class 8173 is followed by C-class C-509 in Coote Industrial colors. In US terms this pair is close to an SD40-2/SD40 duo.

Empty Grain at Biscuit Bridge
Title:  Empty Grain at Biscuit Bridge
Description:  The usual pair of 81-class units bring their empty grain train downgrade near "Biscuit Bridge" in the Cullerins on the South Main. As a local explained to me several years ago the structure, which carries the Old Hume Highway over the tracks, had a truck loaded with biscuits (cookies to us in the US) go out of control and end up on the tracks, closing the line for a period. It's been "Biscuit Bridge" ever since.
