Full Power |
Description: |
The second unit in an eastbound grain train runs full out through Galong NSW. The lead 81-class unit appears to have it easy compared to X-47, whose bark is pure EMD. The unit was delivered in 1975 with a 16-645 putting out roughly 2000HP. |

XPT Headed for Sydney |
Description: |
It's almost 4PM as the daily six-car XPT out of Melbourne heads for Sydney. It's near KP372 and approaching Galong NSW on a steady 1.4% grade. 2015, the trailing unit here, appears to be missing a good part of its pilot. Country Link's XPTs entered service in 1982 and are now approaching the end of their lives although no replacement has been announced. |
