Västtrafik ordered 45 new electric multiple units called Zefiro Express, Class X80, from Bombardier in 2018. The trains are based on Bombardier's Zefiro product family, which includes high-speed trains. Västtrafik's trains have a top speed of 200 kph / 125 mph. The initial plan was to put the first trains into service in 2021, but in summer 2024 it is still in test runs (as seen here). |
