Description:  Västtrafik ordered 45 new electric multiple units called Zefiro Express, Class X80, from Bombardier in 2018. The trains are based on Bombardier's Zefiro product family, which includes high-speed trains. Västtrafik's trains have a top speed of 200 kph / 125 mph. The initial plan was to put the first trains into service in 2021, but in summer 2024 it is still in test runs (as seen here).

Description:  In 2001, SJ ordered 43 railcar sets from the French train manufacturer Alstom, intended to be used primarily in the intensive traffic in the Mälardalen Valley. The Class X40 trains have two floors and are called double-deckers at SJ. The maximum speed for the X40 is 200 kph / 125 mph.

Description:  In the late 1990s, the train manufacturer Adtranz (later Bombardier) developed a new electric multiple unit called Regina. It was adapted to Swedish conditions and the Swedish load gauge of 3450 mm, which is larger than international standards. All Regina trains are owned by the national train rental company Transitio.
