Westbound at Bald Eagle
Title:  Westbound at Bald Eagle
Description:  This was a lucky shot these many years later, as this is the only restored Soo Line GP30 left of 21, although a couple others survive. It is leading a train at Hwy 61 and about to cross the BNs Skally line.

Side view of a great looking engine
Title:  Side view of a great looking engine
Description:  I always have liked the Soos bold, bright paint scheme in comparison to so many drab, dark schemes of the day, and it looked particularly good on a GP30. The 700 is now part of the collection of the Lake Superior Transportaion Museum and has been fully restored.

Smashboard
Title:  Smashboard
Description:  Alot of railroad crossings were protected by these devices and I am guessing it put a biu more pressure on engineers to make sure they stopped! Here it is dropping to allow the CNW train to leave.

Southbound at Bald Eagle
Title:  Southbound at Bald Eagle
Description:  This will be my last download for this album, as I think 100 pictures is enough for each. This is another southbound Milwfukee Road train just crossing over the Soo Lines Chicago main line in a late winter scene.
