Title:  UP 1409
Description:  Adorned with at least three sets of horns, UP SDP35 1409 leads a Falcon train westbound near Maxwell. The 1409 became the last operating SDP35 on UP when she was pulled from storage at Yermo, CA in 6/83 to protect Amtrak's California Zephyr operation across Wyoming. She was retired 1/85 and sold for scrap to the Erman Corporation of Turner, KS in 12/85. Date of photo approximate.

Description:  When the tallest thing is a haystack, you know you are in Nebraska and this happens to be a place called Maxwell. UP is probably making more noise than the fireworks will with six units (2 GE, 4 EMD) easily rolling a-not-that-long intermodal freight on flat straight track.
