Some of the largest remnants of the Santa Fe's Magdalena Branch, this trestle is right next to US 60. The branch was constructed in the late 1880's to connect the mines at Magdalena to the Santa Fe's El Paso Subdivision at Socorro. The mines ran out by 1931, but livestock kept the branch alive until 1972. |
