CN MoW equipment, WC 9120 ballast tamper, parked on a rarely used former SOO spur that parallels Miller St. at Ware St. at Waupaca, WI on Independence Day, 4 Jul. '15. This is one of a pair of spurs that used to run side-by-side parallel to Miller St. and south of Ware St. to service numerous industries. Just out of frame to the left is where a neat, old feed mill stood for about a hundred years or so, until it was demolished earlier this year or late 2014. Another spur ran next to the feed mill. That spur was shared by SOO and GB&W and also crossed Ware St. to service industries along N. Oborn St. |

According to the Surface Transportation Board Rail Recordation document filed on 27 Dec. ‘79, First Maryland Leasecorp would accept delivery of snow plows 17-3276 and 17-3277 in new condition from Winters' Railroad Service, Inc. (as well as Unimog 17-3282 from Case Power & Equipment) on 31 Dec. ’79 at a cost of $80,000 each ($72,300 for the Unimog). That same day they would lease the equipment to C&NW Trans. Co. CN local momentarily halts at the depot while another crew sorts cars at the former C&NW yard at Appleton Junction, WI the evening of 10 Jun. '14. Local was heading back to Neenah after working Appleton, Little Chute and Kaukauna and had two locomotives, CN 4705 and IC 3102. The other crew was using CN 9460 and CN 9673. WC 9623, RMC Typhoon Snow Blower, is on the left. |
