Description:  E&LS train passes the Amberg Veteran’s Memorial and approaches Coleman St./Hwy. V as it pulls 54 cars southeast via former MILW rails at Amberg (originally Pike), WI on a misty 1 Oct. '14. I believe the depot stood right about here, east (right) of the tracks. The depot has been moved to the Amberg Museum Complex about 2 1/2 blocks to the southwest. I don’t know the train’s point of origin, but it was bound for Crivitz, WI.

From its founding in 1883 until 26 Jun. '13, this Kaukauna paper mill was Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. (a.k.a. Thilmany, LLC or Thilmany Papers). The 4 TPPX pulpwood gondolas to the left are spotted there to be loaded with pulpwood to be shipped somewhere else. The number boards of the CN local can be seen above the gondolas at left. The Rail King is a Model RK330 G4 Mobile Railcar Mover, weight 51,500 lb., length 181", width 120", height (on road) 142", height (on rail) 134", rail clearance 3", road clearance 10", 4 speeds (forward & reverse), top speed on road 9 mph, top speed on rail 15 mph.

'13. It should be labeled Stribley Rd., but it appears that the remnants of Stribley Rd. and Thilmany Rd. will now just be referred to as the latter. Portions of both roads were altered or removed during the restoration of the original Thilmany mill (out of frame to the right) and the creation of its new parking lot.
