Title:  AT&SF #30
Description:  Built in 1918 by Pullman in Lot #4530 as business car #30, assigned to the Director in February 1928, later unassigned, rebuilt in March 1969 to camera car #30, renumbered in July 1970 to #5009, renumbered again in January 1973 to #73. The conversion to a camera car was done in order to provide film of the different Divisions for locomotive simulator car #5008 (to #70 in 1974), which had been rebuilt (also in 1969) from 31 seat club lounge-news stand-26 seat chair #3179 (P-S, Lot #6734, Plan #7508, 1947). The #5009/#73 was damaged at an unknown date in a switching accident and was subsequently sold or donated to the Kansas City Railroad Museum in Belton, MO, and later moved to the Western Railroaders Hall of Fame & Museum in Cherryvale, KS. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original Kodachrome 35mm slide.

Title:  #800998 SUITSME
Description:  Built by Pullman in Lot #6176 to Plan #7205 in November 1928 as Bangor & Aroostook #100 for BAR President Percy Todd, and the story goes that when asked about what he thought of the brand new car, Mr. Todd remarked "It suits me." The car was assigned to every subsequent president of the railroad until the BAR bankruptcy in 2003. It was then sold to the Plymouth & Lincoln, which operates the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln, NH. The #100 was used in First Class and charter service on their excursion trains before being sold to Pullman Railtours. Mechanical upgrades and refurbishment for Amtrak certification took place at the Morristown & Erie shops in NJ, and this work was completed in 2012. 1 of 28 private cars that arrived in Seattle over several days for the 2013 AAPRCO convention train to Napa, CA. Description:  Built in 1917 by Pullman as El Paso & Southwestern #500, transferred in 1924 to SP #128 SANTA ROSA, refurbished in 1937, sold in 1968 to Yreka Western #68, transferred in 1993 to KYLE #13, sold in 2004 to private ownership #415 NILES and moved to Redwood City, sold in 2011 to Oregon Pacific. The #415 is crossing the 2nd of 2 diamonds installed on the Oregon Pacific just south of the ORHF roundhouse where the new Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) Orange Line to Milwaukie crosses the OPRR just east of the new Tilikum Crossing over the Willamette River; the diamond seen in the photo is the eastbound track of the Orange Line, the westbound diamond is out of frame to the lower left. In this case, the new crosses the old, as the Oregon Pacific is the remaining segment of the Portland Traction Company interurban line to Milwaukie and Oregon City. #800144 IMPERIAL LEAF
Title:  #800144 IMPERIAL LEAF
Description:  Built by Pullman-Standard in March 1942 in Lot #6668 to Plan #4069H as 4 double bedroom-4 compartment-2 drawing room (4DB-4C-2DR) sleeper IMPERIAL LEAF, 1 of 31 such cars built in that Lot, which was ordered in April 1941; cars were delivered between March and April 1942. 18 of the cars were built for the OVERLAND pool with IMPERIAL-series names, 11 of the cars were built for the GOLDEN STATE with GOLDEN-series names, and 2 cars were built for the PANAMA LIMITED. The 18 cars built for the OVERLAND pool were sold on 12/31/1945 to joint ownership of the UP, SP, and C&NW. This joint ownership arrangement lasted until 1947, when 12 of the cars were sold to UP, 2 cars were sold to SP, and 4 cars, including the IMPERIAL LEAF, were sold to C&NW. These 4 cars were retired in 1965 and sold in 1970 to William W. Kratville's Autoliner Corporation, which rebuilt the IMPERIAL LEAF to a business car configuration for Charter Wire. The car to the left is Charter Wire's GOLDEN MOON, a 2 master bedroom-1 double bedroom sleeper lounge, which was also rebuilt from a 4DB-4C-2DR sleeper built in Lot #6668. Scanned with an Epson V550 from an original 35mm slide, brand is unknown.
