The following is from the book, "CB&Q Color Guide To Freight And Passenger Equipment", by Michael J. Spoor: The covered gondolas proved popular with shippers, so the Q continued to add these cars to the roster. Class GM-4F, a group of 50 cars numbered 83250 - 83299, was built at Havelock ( CB&Q shops in Nebraska ) in 1962, had a 140,000 pound capacity, and an inside length of 52' 5".
