ICG Shore Line Local

Description:  Former Gulf Mobile & Ohio GP35 639 was powering the Illinois Central Gulf's Shore Line Local through Mandeville, Louisiana; on its way from Covington to Bogalusa. The train had just crossed U.S. Highway 190 and was now turning east towards Slidell, where it would turn north again and head up the former GM&O main line to Bogalusa. The whistle post next to those red and black CZCX (Crown Zellerbach Corporation) pulpwood cars was for Carroll Street. After the branch was abandoned in 1991 most of the right of way became the Tammany Trace trail. (approximate date)
