Description:
Class ES-7 wagons entered service between 1942 and 1966 and are short versions of the Class DZ dropside open wagon. The type 1 wagons have pressed outside braces on their bulkheads. This one, original number 84,139, has been converted to a bulkhead flat wagon by removing the dropside doors and stanchions.Computerised number range not known, Original number range 79,001 to 88,000, 120,001 to 122,000, 146,001 to 150,000, 188,051 to 190,500 and 191,501 to 191,550, Length over headstocks 22' 0", Length between axle centres 14' 0", Height 7' 2", Width 8' 5 1/2", Tare (average, before modification) 20,400lb, Load 35,000lb (coal) or 40,000lb (maximum), Floor area 176 sq ft, Capacity 530 cu ft.
