Nice grouping of power in this unidentified yard. PC #4292 is ex-PRR #5892 built by EMD in April of 1950. Behind it is PC #4209 wihiich is ex-PRR E7A #5849 built by EMD in August of 1947. Finally, next to PC #4292 is PC #4027 which is ex-NYC E7A #4027 built by EMD in February of 1948. Actual date, location and photographer are unknown. With Tom Beckett's help (see comment below), the location appears to be Chicago near the LaSalle Street station. |

Here is a postal card via Peter Outerbridge entitled "Louisville Union Station Action." Partially visible at the right is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5892, an EP-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. Looks to me like GM-EMD rules the roost! The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |

Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5892 was built in April of 1950, while #5799 was constructed in June of 1952. They're ready to depart the Station with the "Broadway Limited" bound for Pittsburgh and New York City. ("Stoneborobranch"; #9 of 10) |
