Fernwood Columbia & Gulf SW1 number 600 was photographed outside the railroad's engine house at Fernwood, Mississippi. The locomotive was built on 30 September 1941 as Elgin Joliet & Eastern 240 and was purchased by the FC&G on 11 June 1959 as a back-up unit for SW900 number 900. It was assigned Illinois Central Gulf 622 in 1972 and then went to the Columbus & Greenville as CAGY 525. |
