Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) is PRR engine #5791 and two other units whose numbers are not visible. All were built by EMD. #5791 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mail/express train and are about to pass under the 7th Street Bridge. Note that the westbound mixed-cargo freight train pulled by PRR engine #9525 has stopped. |
