This was one of 12 lightweight SD7's ordered by the CB&Q for use on branch lines that could not support heavier locomotives. It had a single fuel tank, no dynamic brakes, and no steam generator. |

A minor spotting note: apparently during routine maintenance someone replaced the front running board light and put the cover on upside down, or got one from another unit. Note the diagonal stripe mismatch. |
