Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad GP7 259 eastbound at Naperville, Illinois, December 8, 1964, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in December 1953 (c/n 18975) on EMD Order 5312 for 15 GP7's, it became BN 1615 and was retired in December 1981. Although equipped with a steam generator, it is seen here with caps on the generator stacks to keep the moisture out. It is working the East End Way Freight, and having finished switching Naperville, it is backing west onto the main to continue east and work the industries between Naperville and Congress Park, then it will return later in the day to Eola to tie up. |
