Missouri Pacific 1918 was photographed at Race Street Yard in New Orleans, with vessels on the Mississippi River docked on the other sine of the wharves in the background. This unit was constructed in 1962 as Missouri Pacific 418, one of 100 MP low-nose GP18's built in 1962-63 using trucks and other components from traded-in Alco Fa and FB units. The 1918 was retired in April 1984, durind a mass retirement of MP GP18's, traded-in to General Electric, and subsequently scrapped. |
