Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2200, #2201, #2207, #7187, #7004, #2514, and #2248. #2200 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are about to enter one of the westbound tunnels at Gallitzin with a 125-car merchandise freight train. Visible in the foreground is the New Portage Secondary Track leading to Hollidaysburg, just before it merges into the mainline.

They are pulling a westbound TrucTrain that will not stop in Altoona for crew changes. Visible in the foreground is the East Branch of the Juniata River which winds its way through Tyrone and Spruce Creek on its way to merging with the Juniata's West Branch near Huntingdon. Also visible in the distance are various locomotives and rusting rolling stock in the East Altoona deadline. This photo taken from above "The Hole," adjacent to HOMER Tower.
