Built by Baldiwn in January of 1912 as Illinois Central 2-8-2 Mikado #1684 (serial #37464), the was rebuilt and renumbered by the IC shops in April of 1944 as IC #1741. After nearly 43 years of service the loco was sold for scrap in May of 1955. Original specs - 63" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 283,850 lb, tractive effort of 51,637 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
