Description:  Here is a postal card via Peter Outerbridge entitled "Pennsylvania 1816." Caption On Reverse: "Class G-5s Ten-Wheeler steam locomotives were designed for suburban service, providing quick acceleration between closely-spaced stations on commuter runs. Juniata Shops turned out 90 locomotives of this class for the PRR between 1923 and 1925. No. 1816 rests between runs at Pemberton, N.J., February 22, 1952." The photographer is not identified. Shown here is PRR engine #1816, a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata as number "5706" during August of 1924, renumbered "1816" in 1951, and retired in October of 1952 after 28 years of faithful service.
