It was Plymouth serial number 4217, a 25-ton, 175hp gas-mechanical Model ML Type 2 built on 19 March 1941. It had been built for Simmons & O’Connor Construction and used for the construction of the U.S. Army’s Jefferson Proving Grounds near Madison, Indiana. It was subsequently owned by the Linton-Summit Coal Co. at Terre Haute, Indiana and Crown-Zellerbach Co. at Urania, Louisiana before moving to Georgetown, where it was used by Gulf South Railcar, Hou-Tex Rail and DJ Railcar Services.
