Description:  Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad (reporting mark MKT) NW2 8 and SW9 17 at Kansas City, Kansas on August 15, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The NW2 is well prepared for road movement in either direction with both permanent class lights and air horns facing both ways (near the headlight on this end), and sun visors.

Description:  OKLAHOMA CITY OK March 23 1975 -- Katy NW2M 8 awaits work at the abandoned roundhouse at Turner Yard. EMD built the unit (s/n 4584) as MKT 1027 in January 1947. EMD upgraded it to 1200 HP before 1960. It was acquired by Commonwealth Railway Inc as CWRY 108 and then by FMC Corp as TGSX 1028. Description:  WB. Here is an image of an official photo that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5524, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata during June of 1946 and retired in December of 1953 after just seven years of revenue service. This is the very last locomotive ~ of any type ~ produced in Altoona. William E. Burket Collection.
