Description:  Here is page one of a 15-page cover article by David P. Morgan entitled "World's Busiest Mountain Railroad." It was published originally in the April 1957 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 16. Photo by Philip R. Hastings. Partially visible in the foreground is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5859, an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in February of 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. It is heading a mail and express train up and around the Horseshoe Curve on its way to Gallitzin and points West. On the right are two GM-EMD GP-9 pushers on the rear end of the train.

Description:  Bellwood. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at Pinecroft ~ just west of Bellwood, Pennsylvania ~ on 26 June 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5902, #5857, and #5859. All were built by EMD. #5902 is an EP-22 built in 1951 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5857 and #5859 are EP-20's built in 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. They are pulling a 12-car westbound passenger train to Altoona and Pittsburgh. The time is 1:58 P.M. Photo taken at the Riggle's Gap Bridge.

Description:  Huntingdon. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train East of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, during October of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5710, #5859, and another "EP" Class unit whose number is not recorded. All were built by EMD. #5710 is an EP-22 built in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5859 is an EP-20 built in 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound refrigerator-car express train up a straight stretch of track in the Juniata River Valley.
