3 NP Alcos now BN |
Description: |
I was in the US Navy and not at home, when the world changed from that which it once was! And later when I was able to hire out on the BN in the summer of 1978 (which was 10 years after I hired out on the Milwaukee), even all of this was then gone! As were many other things also. I was glad that I was not there to see it change! |

BO 2-8-8-4 #7610 - Baltimore & Ohio |
Description: |
Near the peak of steam locomotive perfection, this massive 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1944 as BO #7610 (serial #70072). It served well until being pushed off the roster by diesels. To make room for the diesels on the roster, the loco was renumbered BO #660 in 1956. It lasted until being scrapped in 196. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. |
