Anybody know what this revolving light was for on this CSX SD40-2? It was making a beeping sound and the light was rotating around.

Al Snyder General These lights are installed on locos that are equipped with an "engine run manager" (ERM) system that automatically shuts down and restarts the diesel engine to conserve fuel. The light flashes, and the alarm you heard activates when the ERM has suffered a malfunction and is unable to restart the engine. 9/23/2008 7:11:09 PM
