A group of former L&N SD40-2s were selected to replace worn out SD40s in hump service. They were placed in tthe 2400s and a freshly rebuilt 2434 stands it's turn to duty in the new role. They were mated to Yard Mates that were pared with GP39s and GP38-2s. The "slugs" are fromer Chessie units rebuilt from cut down GP9s. |
