| When KCS SD40X units 700-703 were new, they were regularly used individually on trains 53, 54, 55 and 56 between Shreveport and New Orleans. At 4:40 on a November afternoon two-month-old 700 heads south out of Alexandria with train No. 53. There are a half dozen big wood chip gons behind the two Espee box cars. |
