BV&E junction
We are looking south toward Albany GA on the old CofG at Americus GA. This location was known as Hope in the past bnd is now known as BV&E Junction (The Buena Vista and Ellaville Railroad was the name of the original line that ran west out of Americus and was named for 2 towns it passed through. The BV&E RR was brought under CofG control in 1895. Perhaps NS saw fit to honor the past with the naming of the junction) The line on my right would have been part of the BV&E RR and now goes to Columbus GA although it appears to be little used if used at all. The line on my left goes to Ft Valley and Macon. Many years ago there was double track between this point and about 2 miles south of Americus at a point known as Opto. If you down the track you can see the track now known as the old main line and is now a yard track.
