CVSR POWER CAR # 688 was first built in 1951 as an Army Kitchen Car. It was rebuilt by Amtrak in the early 1970's as a Head End Power Car. It has 2 Detroit V12 271 engines with 2 super and 2 turbo chargers per engine. Each engine is connected to a 375 KW generator. |
