A Pacific National-Queensland container train runs northbound through downtown Brisbane, bound for Cairns. The unit is a Downer EDI rail PN-class; a 3300HP locomotive with an EMD 12-710 engine as its heart. PNQ owns 13 of the class; when built they were described (along with QR's similar 4000-class) as 'the most powerful narrow gauge diesels in the world". |
